SELF ADVOCATE COMMITTEE
RULES OF THE COMMITTEE

Name:   Circle of Self Advocacy Committee

Purpose:  Sharing information about self advocacy with others who receive services from the Langley Association for Community Living and to make recommendations to the Executive Director when necessary to improve services.

Committee Composition:  At least 4 self advocates to be present at each meeting.

Terms of Office:  Two years.

Committee Officers:

• Chairperson:  will rotate at each meeting
  
  
• Secretary:  support staff will take minutes of meetings

Records:  The Committee will keep records of all discussions and recommendations.

Meetings:  The Committee will meet once a month, on the first Tuesday of each month, at 10:30 a.m. for approximately one hour.

Agenda and Minutes:

• An agenda will be prepared by the Chair of the Committee for that meeting.
  
  
• Minutes will be prepared by support staff and distributed by the end of the week by the designated support staff.
  
  
• Minutes will also be placed on the "P" drive for everyone's access.
